On Picking your Battles...

DON'T DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard the term over and over again. Yesterday I overheard the term from a table conversation at lunch. Today, I read the term in Phantom by Terry Goodkind. It was a very enjoyable book until then.

I can't stand the concept of "picking your battles." Who came up with the idea that a person cannot win every battle. Who supports the idea that the brain cannot come up with an answer to any situation. Who believes that a person can not win by determination, fortitude, courage, and drive?

Not I. Fight. Strive. Win. Succeed. Never bow before the pressure of mediocrity. Face the whirlwind and make it part for you.

Yelling into the face of the Storm

Where are you right now? Does anyone care? What change can you make in the world? Can you as an individual make any true difference?

Most people go through life with the belief that they as individuals cannot make any real difference in the way the world functions. They are correct. For if you do not believe in yourself, no one else will.

What makes a person great; what brings someone to the world stage; what makes one insignificant person a leader of a nation has never been something tangible that is given.

It is the flame born inside one’s heart. It is the light that pierces the darkness in the well of souls. It is the fantasy that turns into a dream. It is the vision that becomes a never-ending obsession. It is the simple voice that is heard because the large imagined fears of this life will not smother it without a fight.

Once that voice is unbound others will hear it. Once shared more will listen. Once shared the storm will part with its passage.

What power does one insignificant individual have? That person has all the power in the world that has ever been there for the taking.
