Life touches all of Life

I was having a conversation today about the way our country operates. Everything from health care to bankruptcy. One thing that I took away from the conversation was how every part of our society is connected. One far reaching program, to taxes, to business, to the economy, to recession, and what is next?

Service to something other than yourself

Doing for yourself is fine. But it should not be the end of your actions. The only way to fully succeed is to succeed with others. If you step on others to make it to the top, you will only wind up in a world where you can never trust others. If you make it as a team, you can rest at ease with the world.

Drawing strength

From where do you draw strength? Is it from your friends? Your family? Do you draw your strength from a belief in a power greater than yourself? Or, do you draw your strength from within yourself?

Could it be that the knowledge that you can succeed makes it possible for you to get by with your head high? Does the lack of faith in yourself make life seem hopeless?

Find the ability within and life will be easier.

A couple days ago some co-workers and I went for a little stroll. Up the trail and along the ridge line we traveled single file. I believe that most of us realized that 1) we were not alone, and 2) there is more to the world than what we normally come across in our day to day lives. I, who have hiked mountains in the tropics and desert alike, was wondering who we would eat first in case we got stuck. Don't worry, that is about 90% a joke. :-) Posted by Hello

Rediscovering Myself Through Memories: A Sojourner Home

Over the past few weeks I took the opportunity to go on a journey of rediscovery. Some of you might call it a vacation, but I have not had one of those since before the turn of the century. Flying from Hawaii to the east coast I submerged myself in the familiar. Familiar, but different too as all things of life are changed by time. Not only does the landscape change due to “progress”, but people do as well. Growth both in maturity and age were evident. This journey allowed me to come to terms with myself as well. Giving me the opportunity to look upon myself from the past and the present. For the first time I was able to see myself not as “me”, but as a full adult. I am not a child any long, nor am I that kid in school. More importantly, I don’t want to be. I am happy with the maturity that I have come into. No gift is it, but something earned through life experiences.

Always take stock of who you are, but do not forget from whence you came. The two together will give you glimpses of the tomorrow you are approaching.
