Religion Crusades v. Public Education
As this current century progresses more attacks are being made against the public education system by Christian individuals and organizations. Allegations are being thrown widely around by some, stating that schools are teaching that there is no God. The desire is for public education to be taught to include the Christian philosophy. God not Creation, Abstinence not Birth Control, Christian Values not "Amoral thought".
Down to basics: If you want a Christian perspective taught, put your child in a Christian School or Home School. If you want an education that can speak to all people, send your children to public school. Public schools by their definition are for everyone, not just Christians. No public educator should say that God does not exist OR that God does exist. Evolution is a theory AND so is Creationism. Unless you were there, you don't know. Guess what?!? Teaching kids that that they should not have sex before marriage is fine, BUT it doesn't work for everyone. It will not stop teenage pregnancy. It will not stop STDs. If you have a solution that will cover everything, GREAT. We all want to hear it. If you don't, your half answer doesn't work. Get over it.
Work together for a real solution.

May I ask what inspired this discussion?
It was a story on National Public Radio (NPR). While some may claim that it is a source of Liberal bias, I find that NPR makes one think and encourages discussion in a public forum. Let's hear it for NPR.
